How’s that novel coming? That back burner essay draft? What about your 2026 resolution to finally compile your poems into a collection? Whatever your creative goals, Writers’ Lounge is here to support you seeing them through, one hour at a time. Come write in a companionable, low-stakes setting alongside fellow wordsmiths every Sunday in the PALS building.

Ten bucks gets you a two-hour reserved chair/table spot which includes access to lounge amenities: unlimited drip coffee and tea, color printer, and reference library (dictionary, thesaurus, etc.). Wifi is also included (but we do appreciate and encourage the use of physical resources as a way to stay offline and sustain focus while writing). We charge because we find that it helps people take showing up more seriously. Of course, it also helps cover the overhead of maintaining the space, and may help you follow through, too.

Our goal is to create a container of accountability that champions writers making regular progress. Onward!

P.S. We plan to add more community resources in the future, possibilities include: “Ask an editor” drop-ins, Q&A’s with local publishers, and options for peer review of work. Any input from y’all, our Portland writing community, could be helpful in shaping future programming. Drop us a line! *
